FAQ
[Accessibility] Are there accessible shifts? / Gibt es barrierearme Schichten?
Yes, a lot of shifts are accessible in some way or the other. However, what you can do depends on your specific needs. A lot of tasks are done sitting at a desk where a wheelchair would usually not be a problem, for example. Others involve carrying heavy things or handling machinery.
We have asked the teams to provide information about how accessible their shifts are but the level of detail varies at this time.
If in doubt, just come to Heaven and talk to us. We will then try to find something that fits what you are able to do.
Was du tun kannst hängt jedoch von deinen persönlichen Möglichkeiten ab.
[Shifts] I can't make it to my shift. Can I sign off again? / Ich schaffe es nicht zu meiner Schicht. Kann ich mich wieder austragen?
You can sign off yourself up to three hours before the shift starts. To sign off after this point, please call Heaven via DECT 1023 (+49 40 5730830 1023) or come by our desk. You can sign off for any reason just until shift start, but please be excellent and do it as soon as you know that you won't make it.
The only bad choice here is not showing up at all without notice because this will cause unnecessary work for Heaven or other teams, possibly disrupt the event and disappoint or annoy a lot of people. In this case you will get marked as “freeloaded” and the hours of that shift count negative instead of positive for you.
[Shifts] Is the battery of a provided DECT phone dead?
Should the DECT at your position say that it has a low battery, don't worry, that's probably not true. Normally it should be fully charged. We use third-party batteries that are charged separately and replaced at regular intervals, so the phones may show incorrect information.
If the DECT just turns off, you can inform the Heaven or bring it with you.
